XML Viewer is an Android app for opening, formatting, browsing, searching, and exporting XML documents. It shows XML in a clean tree view with indentation, syntax highlighting, expandable nodes, line numbers, search, bookmarks, and node details.

XML Viewer is built for developers, testers, support teams, students, and power users who need to inspect XML files quickly without turning the app into an editor or a schema tool.

Open XML Viewer and tap Open XML file. Android will show the system file picker, where you can choose an XML file from Downloads, device storage, cloud storage apps, email attachments, or any app that provides files.

Yes. XML Viewer can receive XML files from file managers and other apps that share or open text/xml or application/xml content.

Yes. Copy XML text to your clipboard, open XML Viewer, and tap Paste XML. The app checks that the clipboard contains XML before opening it in the viewer.

Yes. Tap Load from URL, enter a link to an XML document, and XML Viewer downloads and opens it. URL history is saved so you can reopen or refresh recent URL documents.

Yes. XML Viewer can scan a QR code that contains XML text or a link to an XML file. Camera permission is used only for QR scanning.

Yes. XML Viewer is free to download and use. The free version includes the core XML viewer, tree browsing, text search, line jump, basic PDF export, copy actions, and visual customization.

No. XML Viewer Pro is a one-time lifetime purchase. There are no subscriptions or recurring fees.

Local XML files and pasted XML are processed on your device. You can open, view, search, copy, save, and export local XML without sending the file to a backend. Features that naturally need the internet, such as loading XML from a URL and showing ads in the free version, require a connection.

XML Viewer does not upload local XML files for viewing, parsing, searching, or exporting. Local files are processed on your device. If you use Load from URL, the app connects to the URL you entered to download that XML document.

The free version supports XML files up to about 2 MB by default. Pro removes that free limit and enables large file handling, but the practical maximum still depends on your device's available memory. The app also uses a safety limit to avoid opening files that are too large for the device to handle reliably.

Free users are shown an upgrade prompt when a file is over the free size limit. If a file is too large for the device to open safely, XML Viewer shows a friendly error instead of crashing.

No. XML Viewer is read-only. It does not edit the original XML file in place. Save, share, and export actions create a new formatted file or export output.

Yes. XML Viewer formats XML into a readable structure with indentation, syntax highlighting, line numbers, and expandable nodes. You can save or share the formatted XML.

Yes. Tap nodes to expand or collapse them. You can also expand all or collapse all from the viewer toolbar.

Yes. Free text search looks across element names, attributes, and values. Results can be opened from a results sheet, and next/previous buttons move between matches.

Yes, with Pro. XPath search lets you enter an XPath query and jump directly to matching nodes. Invalid queries are shown as friendly errors.

Yes. Tap the line jump action, enter a 1-based line number, and XML Viewer scrolls to that line and highlights it. Line numbers stay stable even when parts of the tree are collapsed.

Long-press a node to open node details. The sheet shows the node name, type, depth, child count, attributes, text value, XPath, parent information, bookmarks, notes, and copy/export actions.

Yes. You can copy a node as XML, JSON, or plain text. You can also copy individual attribute values and text values.

Yes, with Pro. Open node details and use Copy XPath to copy the full XPath for that element.

Yes. You can bookmark nodes from node details and open the bookmarks sheet from the viewer toolbar. Free bookmarks last for the current session. Pro bookmarks are saved per file.

Yes. Node details include annotation tools for marking nodes with colors and notes. Pro saves bookmarks and notes per file so they are available when you reopen the same document.

Yes. File properties show metadata and XML structure details such as file name, size, source URL when available, root element, encoding, total elements, unique element names, attributes, text nodes, and max depth.

Yes, with Pro. XML Viewer exports the full XML document as formatted JSON. Attributes are stored under @attributes, text values use #text when needed, repeated elements become arrays, and empty elements become null.

Yes. XML Viewer can export XML to PDF with full XML or current expanded view, black-and-white or color output, page numbers, and line number options. Free PDF export may be limited to the first 200 lines; Pro removes the line limit and unlocks advanced PDF options.
