Yes. Choose Load music files on the start screen to scan and play music stored on your device. Local playback does not require an internet connection after your files are on the device.
Internet is required for Audius streaming, Audius search, Audius artists and playlists, ads, and consent/privacy forms. Streaming can use mobile data, so Wi-Fi is recommended.
No. The app plays local files that are already on your device and streams from Audius. It does not download music from Audius or other online sources.
Music Player needs access to audio files so it can scan your device and build the local music library. On newer Android versions it requests audio/media permission; on older versions it requests storage permission.
Notification permission lets the app show the current song in the notification area and provide playback control while music is playing in the background.
Tap Load music files on the start screen. If this is the first load, if the library is empty, or if reload-on-start is enabled, the app scans the device before opening the library.
Long-press Load music files on the start screen, or enable Always reload songs on app start in Settings.
Local mode includes Trending on Audius, Playlists, Favorites, Songs, Albums, Artists, and Recent.
Audius mode includes Tracks, Artists, and Playlists. These sections load online content from Audius.

Make sure audio/storage permission is allowed, then long-press Load music files on the start screen to reload the library. Also check the minimum song duration setting, because short files may be filtered out.
